5 Day Adventure Itinerary 

 

Day 1 - On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a representative of Private Safaris who will hand you your vouchers for your accommodation and tours. You will be transferred to your hotel (depending on package purchase). Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 2 – After breakfast, you will be transferred to Franschoek for the Wine Tram Excursion.

A combination of tram and tram - bus will transport you around a loop of seven stops to hop off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply stroll through the vineyards. You will be transferred back to your hotel later the afternoon.

Day 3 – After breakfast, depart on a scheduled Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour.

Bring your camera - we're heading for Cape Point at the south western tip of the Cape Peninsula with the most spectacular views in the world. The drive is just as inspiring, passing steep mountains, secluded coves and sweeping beaches. The Cape Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. Here you will see a variety of wildlife that includes baboons, rhebok, Cape Mountain zebra and the elusive eland.

The majestic coastline offers drama worthy of being called "Nature's Greatest Show". Witness the union of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.

Following the coastline, you will return via the Penguin Colony at the Boulders Beach (entry for your own account) and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a short walking tour of the beautiful gardens. You will be transferred back to your hotel and spend the evening at your leisure.

Day 4 – After your breakfast, you will be collected at the hotel for a 45 minute tour of Afrogem, one of the leading jewellery manufacturers in South Africa. You will have the opportunity to see how smelted gold is transformed, watch craftsman set gems in the creation of elegant jewellery or purchase any quality jewellery. After the tour you will be transferred to the world renowned Table Mountain Cable Car Station for for the scenic trip up to the top of Table Mountain - one of the seven wonders of nature. On a clear day, you will be able to see Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years. After your descent, make your own way to your hotel. The return journey from the cable car station to your hotel (+- 15 minutes) is for your own account. Taxis are available at a cost of approximately AUD15. Spend the rest of your day at your leisure or visit the V&A Waterfront.

Day 3 – After breakfast, you will be transferred from Stellenbosch to your hotel in Cape Town. The President Hotel.

Thereafter, you will be transferred to visit Table Mountain where you will ascend the cable car to the top of the mountain for a birds eye view of the city of Cape Town (weather permitting).

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company has been providing visitors with a world class experience since October 4, 1929. The mountain is situated in a National Park and World Heritage Site.

The return journey from the cable car station to your hotel (+- 15 minutes) is for your own account. Taxis are available at a cost of approximately AUD15. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

The tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point and Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range. We'll continue to the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town's best kept secrets.

The majestic coastline offers drama worthy of being called "Nature's Greatest Show". Witness the union of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.

Following the coastline, you will return via the Penguin Colony at the Boulders Beach (entry for your own account) Fish Hoek fishing village and Muizenberg. Before your return, you'll stop at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for a short walking tour of the beautiful gardens.

You return to your hotel, passing the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial and the Groote Schuur Hospital. Spend the evening at your leisure.

4 Night Cape Town Self Drive Itinerary*

Day 1 - On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a representative of Private Safaris who will escort you to the car rental desk to pick up your hired car.

Self-drive from Cape Town International Airport to your hotel, where you will be spending the next four nights.

Spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 2 – After breakfast, make your own way to the V&A Waterfront for your tour of Robben Island.

Currently the boat runs three times daily; 09h00, 11h00 and 13h00 until the beginning of peak season (01 September). The ferries depart from the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront. The tour takes 3.5 hours including the ferry trip to and from the Island (depending on the boat used as they have different travel times).

You will disembark at Murray's Bay Harbour situated on the east coast of the Island and take a short walk to buses that will transport you to all the historical sites around the Island. On the way to the buses, you will pass buildings and a high wall built by prisoners during the 1960's. The buildings were used for family and lawyer visits to prisoners.

You will meet your Tour Guide when you have boarded the busses. The Tour Guides inside the prison are former political prisoners. They are fully conversant and knowledgeable about the Island's multi-layered 500 year old history. The tour route includes the graveyard of people who died from leprosy, the Lime Quarry, Robert Sobukwe's house, the Bluestone Quarry, the army and navy bunkers and the Maximum Security Prison where thousands of South Africa's freedom fighters were incarcerated for years. The tour culminates with a viewing of Nelson Mandela's cell.

Make your way back to your hotel after the tour, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4 – After your breakfast, make your own way to the Table Mountain cableway.

You'll ascend to the top (weather permitting) by the revolving cable car (tickets included). Here, you'll see wild flowers and the famous silver tree, and marvel at the birds-eye view of the city and its beaches. On a clear day it is even possible to see Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned on one side and Cape Point on the other.

After your descent, the remainder of your day is at leisure.
